Hi, I have a Sony A6400 and I wanted to know if this flash is compatible and if so can it be used directly on the camera shoe?

Yes, it is compatible. However, this flash is not TTL capable. The power has to be set manually. It would also be too big for an A6400. TTL capable are the following Godox flashes for Sony:
Godox TT685S II (clip-on flash, Sony)
with lithium ion battery:
Godox V860II Sony (clip-on flash, Sony)
much smaller and also with lithium ion battery:
Godox V350S (clip-on flash, Sony)
for batteries or rechargeable batteries (AA)
Godox TT350S Mini Thinklite (clip-on flash, Godox)
