Exactly for this reason, I have now bought one with an extended warranty. Normally I am against these extensions, but I don't want to take the risk with the prices of the big toners. However, then only original cartridges are to be used. and HP store has the best prices with an employee login from an authorised company. On the other hand, with normal prices, they are by far the worst.

I haven't had my printer that long, which means the toner cartridges are still half full. But I've seen that buying more cartridges is immensely expensive and that it would be cheaper to buy a new printer - which is actually a joke ecologically! But if, as you write, the printer then goes out so soon, it would actually be worth considering... So far it's running perfectly. I have asked Tonerpartner.ch whether there are cheaper compatible cartridges, but have not yet received an answer.
