Synology MR2200ac Set of 2
I have an Apple Airport as a router. Can I connect 1 or 2 MR2200ac via WLAN so that together they form a MESH network? Or should I buy the RT2600ac and 2 MR2200ac straight away?
You won't be able to set up a mesh network with the Apple Airport and one or two MR2200ac. Either just the MR2200ac, one as the main router, or better the RT2600ac + 2 MR2200ac (my configuration). If you have the money for it, very easy to set up. I even forgot about the 2 MR2200ac. They are automatically managed from and by the RT2600ac.
I can only agree with the previous answers. Due to my 'air-raid shelter isolation', I myself use three MR2200ac in a network as a mesh network in the flat, which works perfectly. At the time, the RT2600ac was not yet available, otherwise I would have considered it. You should take the Apple Airport out of service. The product is very old, was taken out of the range by Apple and will most likely not receive any patches or the like.
Papa_zyde is right: it is not possible to form a "mesh" from the listed units from different manufacturers. Take two (or more) MR2200ac and you have a perfect "mesh". Set up the first device as a router and configure the other(s) as APs and that's it.
