Question about WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra
I have several questions. 1. just to be sure. Is the memory connected to the WiFi? I mean, can I access it all the time, or only when the PC is on? 2. do you use an app or something else? 3. can I also use an Android mobile? 4. is the installation complicated or self-explanatory with average skills? Thanks if anyone knows. It is really to be sure. I don't want to experience any bad surprises...

I would no longer buy the WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra as a NAS because Western Digital has a very peculiar update policy for the firmware. There is a lot of information about this on the Internet, e.g. here: https://www.digitec.ch/de...
Furthermore, I cannot recommend WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra as a NAS because, among other things, it is also very slow.
Hello Réné, all your questions can be answered with YES ! I use the iPhone app to access remotely. On my PC I can dump files to this home Cloud. At first, while being IT savvy, I was a little confused setting up the app and the PC dashboard. I called customer service and they talked me through it with great patience, teaching me what it does and does not do. After I was all set ! Since my purchase I’ve been using it without any flaws. I had electricity interruptions, it rebooted and worked as before. Firmware updates itself. All in all I gained 100% confidence (being very security minded) this was an excellent purchase. I was thinking like you in the beginning. The only thing I’m still thinking about is to hide it somewhere in the house so no one can steal it :-) ! Bests from Montreux, Arnold
