Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 Mesh System AX6000 (RBK853)
I use my Netgear Ori RBK853 with a UPC Giga Connect Box, which I use as a modem. As long as I have a connection, everything is ok. But several times a day the connection is interrupted and I have to restart the Netgear router. Does anyone know what this could be and how to fix it?
I have the same problem, it always starts with my 2.4 GHz devices no longer getting an IP address. Then, after a while, the 5 GHz devices also stop getting an IP address.
The only thing that helps then is to reset the router to factory settings and set it up again. This takes less than 10 minutes and then I have no problems for a few weeks.
Nothing else is suggested in the Netgear forums, from my point of view there is a buffer somewhere that fills up and then there is a chain reaction.
Nevertheless, this router is the only one that has met my requirements for good Wi-Fi so far. I have used various other devices and have been disappointed by all of them.
Hello - You would have to clarify this with UPC or in the Netgear router forum - it could be that if you set the UPC as a bridge and the router receives the WAN address - it is therefore virtually the objector. If you have a device that runs 2477, you can ping a public IP (Google DNS, or Quad9, etc.) and see if it always works.) and see whether it still interrupts or not...
Have you configured the router as router and UPC as router (not as bridge/modem) and does it still happen?
