I would like to buy the iPhone 6Plus, but I am not sure if the iPhone with subscription extension works with all network providers (e.g. Salt/Swisscom or with a prepay abroad).

All iPhones sold by Digitec are sim-free devices, which means you can use any nano sim card, regardless of the provider.
