Is the Forerunner 235 waterproof? Can you keep it on when showering? How does it look when swimming?

I keep the Forerunner 235 on part of the time when I shower, so it's waterproof. But I've never been swimming with it.
According to the Garmin homepage (if you're not too lazy to do some research), it's waterproof up to 5 ATM (5 bar), which means up to 50 metres.

That's exactly the difference between the Forerunner and the smartwatches from Apple and Samsung. I always shower with the watch. Swimming is also no problem.
