is there a suitable macro lens?
Yes, there is a Canon EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lens for the Canon EOS M50. With this lens, very small objects can be photographed (e.g. the size of an ant). However, this lens also costs about 280 CHF.

However, there is an alternative with inexpensive extension adapters. These are adapter rings which are mounted between the existing lens and the camera body. These rings are sold in small sets (e.g. 10mm+16mm). I have tried this successfully and am very satisfied with the set "VILTROX DG-EOS M Automatic Extension Tube" 10,16mm. This set comes from the Far East, is also very high quality and specially designed for the Canon EOS M50.
This phenomenon can be taken further and two sets can be used at the same time ;-)
The functionality is very simple; these extension rings do NOT contain any optics. They only passively extend the focal length and the camera is forced to focus on a closer point. This actually often works perfectly (also supports the autofocus), but you should be aware that the autofocus also sometimes struggles and cannot find a clear focus on its own (goes back and forth for a long time). So: switch off the autofocus and focus manually! In addition, a tripod is almost absolutely necessary for macro photography in general.
Have fun and good photography!
