is this adapter also available the other way? i.e. not Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter but 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter to Lightning?

No - Lightning is a purely digital interface, see https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki...).
This means that there are only digital signals on the Lightning side, no matter what the accessory is.
Somehow Apple must have managed to accommodate not only the Lightning ID chip but also a digital-to-analogue (D/A) converter. Quite amazing.

I would also be interested in this. Is there a solution to use the new Lightning headphones on a 3.5mm connector? As already mentioned, this would be exactly the opposite of this adapter.
