On my two smartphones galaxy nexus, android 4.3 and xcover 4, android 9 I can't find the mirror item. Is there a special app for this or is it possible that it does not work at all on special smartphones?

It may well not work on the smartphone.

Here is a guide to screen mirrioring. 1:
1. drag the options bar of the smartphone downwards. 2. click on the "Smart View" icon.
2. click on the "Smart View" icon
3. scan for available devices
4. select your TV to start the transmission
