The data sheet says PDF searchable(.pdf), so does the print also support OCR? Nothing in the Digitec description. Scan to Email : Does that mean it can only scan to email? I only want to scan to the PC. I think with the HP software "HP Easy Start" for MacOS I can also scan PDF/A.

No, it can not only scan to a mail address but has various other scan options. Namely: Scan to PC (printer activates the scan software on the PC), scan from PC (scan software on the PC activates the printer)*, scan to a UBS drive plugged into the printer, scan to network share.

2. OCR is possible with the scan software in the HP driver. (Tested only on Windows. I don't know about Mac.) The device itself (i.e. without driver) cannot - I think - OCR. Consequently, there is no OCR with Scan to Mail, for example. 


[These two possibilities worked at least with the appropriate HP driver for Windows. I don't know how it looks on Mac.
