The lens is great as an autofocus lens. Fits well on the a7iv. There are certainly cheaper, but larger/heavier lenses from sigma & co. Manual focus is difficult to operate on this lens. If that were important, I would advise against it.
Personally, I don't think 55mm is ideal as the only focal length for a project (it already looks quite narrow), so I would rather recommend the almost identical 35mm 1.8
