Ink cartridge and paper come in one set. Canon says: " SELPHY ink and paper sets contain just the right amount of ink and paper for the number of photos you want to print, so you can always replace both together in one easy step."

As the size of the adhesive labels does not correspond to the paper size of the "normal" paper, there will be a discrepancy between cartridge and paper over time or, depending on the format, white spots on the paper. This is why you will have to replace the cartridge every time you want to print labels. However, this should be possible without any problems.


It may be that the printer notices when the wrong ink is used, but I have no information on this.
