I have an SSD drive in it and it works perfectly without any problems.

The device has 16 gigs of storage but the moment it is unplugged you can no longer watch the films it has recorded so I suggest you make a subscription to eufy and that way the films are automatically in the iCloud and in case of power failure you can watch the recordings.
