Why is the picture so dark despite full brightness? Does anyone know the solution? Or is this a bad TV?

No, the TV is certainly not bad and has a great picture. Your device probably has a problem and is a warranty case. I would try a reset to factory settings and if that doesn't help, make a warranty claim.
