Why is this drive so slow? Some data is transferred in kilobytes per second.

It's not like there's no connection to the drive. There is already a lot of data on it. Other data can also be copied to it and used. Only the transfer rate is very slow. You can also access the admin console without any problems. We have several other WD-NAS in use, including 4-bay NAS with RAID5. The transfer rate is much faster with these.

With which connection? LAN? WLAN? Direct connection with computer? Do you possibly have a different cable/length?
