In a bar, Allmen meets a cultivated gentleman of his age - Adrian Weynfeldt. The name is naturally familiar to the art detective. It is the beginning of an unusual friendship. When Weynfeldt realises shortly afterwards that a painting is missing from his collection, he calls in Allmen. Weynfeldt's colourful circle of friends is tight-lipped. Only the art book dealer wants to talk. But soon she can no longer do so. Allmen is faced with his first murder case.
