His first novel "Die Therapie" quickly conquered the bestseller list and was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize for best crime thriller debut. Fitzek's books have been translated into 36 languages and sold over 19 million copies worldwide. Many of them have been successfully adapted into films, and "Die Therapie" was recently produced as a six-part mini-series for Prime Video and immediately became the number one most-watched German-language programme. Sebastian Fitzek is also known for his spectacular book presentations, which he stages as shows. In 2017, he was the first German author to be honoured with the European Prize for Crime Literature. He is the founder of the Viktor Crime Award and is a patron of the German association "Das frühgeborene Kind" e.V.
