Julius forscht - Erste Hilfe
German, Michael King, 2020Product details
How quickly can something happen on the playground, while riding a bike on the street, or even just playing at home? Children's sense of adventure is still unbroken: the faster, higher, and further, the better. It's normal for things to sometimes go wrong. The question is, how should one behave in such emergencies? How do you treat a scrape? What soothes a wasp sting? Or stops a nosebleed? And what should you do if someone suddenly becomes unconscious or stops breathing?
In the book "Julius Investigates – First Aid," Julius addresses these and other questions. He first explains the most common emergencies, how to recognize them, and what causes them, and then how to react appropriately. The second part focuses on practice: applying bandages is a skill to be learned, as is the correct recovery and shock positions. And before things get serious, it's good to have practiced mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions. But the DIY component is not neglected in the book either: Julius shows, among other things, how to create an emergency quartet, how to stock your own first aid kit, and how to make a plaster mask of your face.
