Radiant Wall Clock by Alessi & Michele De Lucchi

The renowned Italian designer and architect Michele De Lucchi was a member of the Memphis Group, an iconic movement that had a significant impact on design in the 1980s. The Raggiante wall clock by Alessi is made from bamboo wood. "Raggiante" means radiant and refers to the twelve long sun rays that represent the clock. Between the longer rays are twelve smaller rays – also rectangles. The hands are brightly colored in orange to perfectly complement the image of the sun. The design of Michele De Lucchi's clock is inspired by the idea that the sun indicates the time of day. It marks the beginning of the day, and without its light, the divisions of morning, noon, and evening would be unnecessary.
