You cannot turn off the screen backlight while keeping the projector light on separately; the device does not support independent control of the display backlight and the projection light. The «Snooze/Light» button controls the backlight and projection together, so reducing light in the room by turning off only the screen light while keeping the projector on is not possible. The manual does not mention a function to disable the LCD backlight independently from the projector.
