The night light on the back can be dimmed in the settings, including time window and on/off. I always have mine off, I don't need the clock as a night light, it only gets in the way when I'm watching TV😎.

so the screen brightness adjusts itself down so much that it is no longer noticeable. In other words, you can't see it and it's 0% annoying.
