The unit has no variable regulation. As far as I remember, it only has 3 levels and various display schemes (picture here in black and white). It is also very easy to read at the lowest level. Which is nice for the readability but also always represents a light source. Screen off from - to does not exist. Maybe the manufacturer has extended the software, the manufacturer would have to be contacted. I think the clock is very good for normal rooms; alternatively, you can also display pictures on it.

My 84 year old dad is very happy with the brightness that this clock provides in his bedroom. It acts as a standby light for him, so there is no problem going to the toilet at night without turning on another light. ( but yes, in the dark it is quite bright. )
