I already have a Philips Z-wave Bridge. Do I need this controller for the functions or do the radiator valves also find their way into the network via the other bridge?

We are not aware of a Z-Wave Bridge from Philips. If you mean the hue bridge, it doesn't work. Hue is based on the Zigbee standard.
The Danfoss Z-Wave controller is the actuator that controls the heating actuators 24V (NC or NO). Up to 5 pieces per controller. The Danfoss HC5 is controlled via a Z-Wave central unit (Fibaro Homecenter, Popp central unit, etc.).
