Is the steam supposed to be strong? It hardly comes out, especially when the tank is half full. The steam is much less than what comes out of my kettle.

Well, for this model the steam is not super powerful, it is noticeable and sufficient even for thick fabric, and in my case, it's definitely stronger than from the kettle. If it barely comes out on a half tank, I would recommend claiming the guarantee or repair.
