Depending on the area of application of a tire, the compound formulation is specifically adapted - whether for racing or mountain biking, for time trials or downhill. For BlackChili, Continental refines special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread compounds. Soot particles are then added to these compounds, which in turn are optimized in terms of shape and surface properties. The complex compound technology is so sensitive that tires with BlackChili Compound are produced exclusively in Korbach. The ProTection technology gives tyres the perfect blend of smooth running, grip and puncture protection. This is made possible by an additional, all-round puncture protection layer, which makes the entire tyre particularly resistant and insensitive to injuries.
