The Easton EC70 AX handlebar made of carbon features a 16° flare and weighs only 220 g (42 cm width), making it ideal for gravel use. In comparison, other handlebars with the proven MCD shape (Maximum Contact Design) only have a 4° outward curve. So why 16° here? Easton has concluded, based on rider feedback and extensive testing, that 16 degrees strikes the perfect balance between maximum flare and efficient access to shift and brake levers on both the top and bottom of the handlebar.
