The Maxxis Rekon 2.60 is a very voluminous tire that is excellent for daily rides, ready to shred in the woods, and suitable for all-mountain rides as well as excursions into rough terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for tubeless rides with sealant but can also be used with a tube like all TR tires. Maxxis primarily recommends the Rekon for the rear wheel, which pairs best with a 2.60 Forekaster in the front but can also be combined with coarser tread patterns.

Wide Trail Casing
The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for today's modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and can take on a square shape on wide rims, leading to suboptimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but also perform excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.

3C Maxx Terra
This is the right 3C compound for enduro and freeride tires. It provides smooth performance uphill as well as excellent grip downhill, along with a long lifespan.

EXO+ Protection
The new EXO+ construction combines two of the best materials for puncture protection: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer surrounds the entire tire from bead to bead, while the EXO layer is mounted on the sidewalls. Together, EXO+ offers the following benefits: 27% better puncture protection on the tread, 51% more stable sidewall, and 28% more puncture protection.
