Product details

High-performance tap made of high-speed steel with a titanium nitride coating. Universally applicable for a wide range of materials due to the hard material layer. Suitable for through holes and blind holes in unalloyed and alloyed steels up to 900 N/mm² strength, as well as stainless steels. The thread is cut in a single operation. Note: Cutting speeds starting from 10 m/min. The TiN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness to approximately 2,500 HV. Titanium nitride is a chemical compound of the two elements titanium and nitrogen. TiN is a metallic hard material with a typical gold-yellow color. Advantages: higher hardness, lower friction coefficient, longer tool life. Cooling is not necessary but is recommended.
