The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular socket. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from screwdriver to screw thanks to T-STAR plus enables you to work quickly and much more efficiently than with all other drives. The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside ("pockets") and can therefore be countersunk without additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head is flush with the surface.

The partially threaded screws are ideal for fastening thin components such as wood-based panels, boards or planks to thicker components such as squared timber or beams. The short thread screws into the thick component, while the unthreaded shank remains in the attachment. This creates the maximum contact pressure between the two. The non-threaded part should be at least as thick as the attachment part.

The term 4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during screwing in and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The expansion pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood near the edge is prevented. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the core of the screw does not have to "squeeze" into the wood.

With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to galvanising in terms of corrosion protection. No chromium(VI) is used with WIROX, the screws are just as resilient even after years in outdoor areas that are not directly exposed to the weather and are also environmentally friendly.

The T-STAR plus recessed drive increases the contact surface of the bit, ensuring optimal power transmission from the screwdriver to the screw.

T-STAR plus drive

The square shape of the 4CUT point displaces the wood fibres when driven in, reducing splitting pressure and preventing the wood from splitting close to the edge.

Split-reducing 4CUT point

The chromium(VI)-free WIROX coating reliably protects the material against corrosion in outdoor areas not directly exposed to the weather.
