Product details
Soon after the construction of the first narrow-gauge railways, the issue arose that goods had to be transferred at the transition stations. Therefore, a better solution was sought, one of which was to load complete standard gauge cars onto so-called roll blocks. A roll block is a small narrow-gauge vehicle onto which one wheelset of the standard gauge car is loaded. For a two-axle car, two roll blocks are required. Some roll blocks were equipped with the corresponding braking system of the narrow-gauge railway, but there were also unbraked roll blocks. Generally, only freight cars were loaded onto roll blocks, while it was not common for passenger cars. Even today, especially in Switzerland, roll blocks are used for loading freight cars.
Set consisting of four roll blocks, as used by many narrow-gauge railways and still in use today in some cases. Completely new design. A two-axle car can be loaded onto two roll blocks, and both cars with a gauge of 64 mm and standard LGB cars can be loaded. The roll blocks and the cars loaded on them are coupled together and to the locomotive or to a car with a standard LGB coupling in a prototypical manner using the included coupling rods. Metal wheelsets. Length of a roll block is 10 cm.
Can be used with many narrow-gauge railways.
