The AUF1 155mm self-propelled howitzer is a heavy ground weapon developed in the 1970s by French industries or the Groupement des Industries de l'Armée de Terre (GIAT). It is based on a modified chassis of the AMX-30B main battle tank and is equipped with a 155mm 39-caliber gun featuring an automatic loading system. Additionally, it has a roof-mounted 12.7mm anti-aircraft gun. The howitzer was used by the French Army and exported to Saudi Arabia and Iraq, where it was employed during the Iran-Iraq War against Iran. It also served as a primary asset of the French Army during peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992.
