Electric locomotive Re 4/4 II 11108 "Swiss Express" of the Swiss Federal Railways. On May 22, 1975, the train category "Swiss Express" was introduced by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) along with the commissioning of the Heitersberg line and existed until 1982. This category replaced the earlier city express trains. At that time, they were considered the flagship trains of the SBB and served the most important transport axis from Geneva to St. Gallen. The trains were then pulled by eight specially modified Re 4/4 II locomotives. Unfortunately, today only the 11108 and 11109 remain to remind us of the original color scheme. With the Re 4/4 II 11108, we present one of the more popular locomotives. The "Cremeschnitte," as it is affectionately called, was still in regular service until 2021 and is now parked in Olten, waiting for its next use.
