The series 185.2 is an electric dual-system locomotive with crash-optimized locomotive body from Bombardier Transportation. It can operate on both of the commonly used alternating current systems in Europe: 15 kV/16 2/3 Hz and 25 kV/50 Hz. The 185 389 was delivered to DB AG in 2009 and is certified for operation in Germany and Austria. As part of an extensive cooperation for the transport of new cars between the DB AG group and the automobile manufacturer Audi, the locomotive received a distinctive special design.
