Product details
The electric locomotive series E 44 (from 1968 known as series 144 at DB) saw nearly 200 locomotives put into service between 1932 and 1954. The performance of these four-axle bogie locomotives was around 2,200 kW, with a maximum speed of 90 km/h. The locomotives proved themselves reliable for both passenger and freight trains. Some units were equipped with a push-pull control system, allowing them to be used in suburban traffic in urban areas. The E 44, from which the series E 44.5, E 93, and E 94 were further developed, can rightly be considered one of the most reliable and successful electric locomotives, as it helped establish the bogie design and the traction drive. Selected models from the former railway depot in Freilassing are being reproduced under the label "Edition Freilassing." In 1905, the first locomotives, then still steam locomotives, occupied the engine shed with its 20 tracks. About 20 years later, the construction of the electric locomotive workshop took place, with further buildings following in the subsequent years. ROCO also has a close connection to the Bavarian town of Freilassing, as it was home to the first German sales office. Look forward to the models from this unique edition!.
