Like a phoenix from the ashes, the steam locomotive giant represented an absolute revolution for the SNCF after the war. As the French locomotive fleet was heavily depleted, robust and versatile Mikado locomotives were ordered from the USA. The first series of 700 locomotives was delivered as early as 1945, followed by a second series of 640 locomotives by 1947. The 141 R was used in many types of trains and was particularly popular for heavy freight and express trains. Nine of these locomotives still exist today, including the 141 R 1244, which is preserved as an operational vintage train in Switzerland.

To ensure a perfect driving experience even on tight curves with the surprise model 2024, the distance between the locomotive and tender can be easily increased.

The model of the 141 R operates with an oil tender in the visual condition of the SNCF, just as the locomotive is currently operational in Brugg, Switzerland.

For true driving pleasure, the mfx+ decoder offers fantastic digitally switchable functions such as cab lighting, chassis lighting, and firebox flickering. The delicate metal construction of the 141 R includes a built-in smoke generator as standard for realistic steam locomotive operation. The buffer height complies with NEM standards.

Attention to detail is evident, with a replica of the essential train protection system Integra-Signum for museum operations under the cab.

The cab walls feature curtains along with multi-colored driver and fireman seats. The flame of the oil burner flickers in the firebox, creating a realistic and unique fire flickering effect.
