Cogwheel railways radiate a unique fascination with their exceptional combination of mountain scenery and bold track layouts, featuring numerous bridges and tunnels. The movement of the train is facilitated by a cogwheel engaging with a rack rail located in the middle of the track, as the usual friction between wheel and rail is insufficient for the steep gradients. In cogwheel railways of the so-called mixed system, where friction sections alternate with rack sections depending on the incline, the pulling force is exerted by the same machine. In the Alps, there are particularly many private cogwheel railways that are very popular among tourists from all over the world.

The locomotives of the war locomotive series 52 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn that remained in Belgium were designated as series 26. These were the locomotives that were built by Belgian locomotive factories only in 1945 and delivered shortly after the end of the war. In total, the series 26 included locomotives numbered 26.001 to 26.100.

Powerful pressure in the boiler. The Berlin Maschinenbau AG Schwartzkopff delivered the first high-speed freight locomotives of the series 41 in 1936. These machines proved to be universal locomotives for medium-heavy trains. A total of 366 locomotives of this series were built between 1936 and 1941, most of which were taken over by the Deutsche Bundesbahn and the Deutsche Reichsbahn after the war.
Prototype: Freight steam locomotive series 042 with oil main firing and oil tender of the standard design 2´2´T 34. Conversion version with newly built high-performance boiler. Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB). Black/red basic color scheme. Witte wind deflectors, DB reflex glass lamps, and Indusi on both sides. Locomotive operating number 042 206-3. Operational condition around 1970.
Model: With digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Regulated high-performance drive with flywheel in the boiler. 4 driven axles. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender largely made of metal. Designed for smoke set 7226. Direction-dependent changing three-light front signal and retrofittable smoke set can be operated conventionally, digitally switchable. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white LEDs. Adjustable short coupling with kinematics between locomotive and tender, depending on the track radius. Kinematically guided short coupling at the rear of the tender and front of the locomotive with NEM pocket. Minimum radius of 360 mm. Piston rod protection tubes, brake hoses, and screw coupling imitations are included. Length over buffers 27.5 cm. Suitable freight cars can be found in the current Märklin H0 range, indicating the required DC wheelsets. This model is available in AC version in the Märklin H0 range under item number 37931.
