From 2023, the manufacturer guarantees four major Android upgrades and five years of security patches for "selected flagship models". The manufacturer has not announced which ones these will be. The extended support is made possible, among other things, by the merging of Oppo and OnePlus software development, as OnePlus itself noted in July.
ColorOS 13, and with it Android 13, has been distributed by Oppo to over 30 smartphone models since launching on 18 August 2022. The manufacturer plans to add over 20 more models in the first quarter of 2023. These include the Oppo Reno8 Lite and other models in the Reno series, as well as the Oppo Pad Air tablet.
