Pia’s Picks: storage boxes that’ll help you «get a handle on things»

Why get drawn into an awkward balancing act when you could go for a grippy alternative? Handles make everyday life so much easier – and some of them look darn good doing it.

To be honest, I sometimes wonder why everything doesn’t have a handle. Oftentimes, I find myself lugging things around and thinking, «this could’ve been so much easier».

Whether it’s storage boxes, baskets or trays we’re talking about, life is more relaxed if they’ve got one or two handles. No wobbly balancing acts, no nuisances when you’re tidying up. You just grab your stuff and get to work.

I find handles on cutlery holders especially practical. They also reduce the need to go back and forth to your kitchen when setting a table in your dining area, garden or balcony. In summer especially, when you’re constantly moving between the house and the garden, this is a real game changer.

For me, handles inject just the right amount of functionality deemed acceptable by my decor-crazy heart. They literally help you get a grip on things – and bring a sense of ease to everyday life. And if a handle-boasting product is as chic as the ones listed here, I don’t need much convincing to hit the order button.
