The three 92 mm PWM fans and the pre-applied MX-4 thermal paste ensure efficient cooling, even during overclocking. For previously unattainable VRM and RAM cooling performance, ARCTIC has developed and patented a back-side cooler for the Accelero Xtreme IV. This allows for efficient cooling of the RAM and voltage regulators, which not only enables higher clock rates but also significantly extends the lifespan of the graphics card.

The compatibility list is based on the reference board layouts from AMD Radeon and NVIDIA. The Accelero Xtreme IV is only compatible with graphics cards that have a standard PCB size with a width of 98 mm. Graphics cards with different dimensions are not compatible with this cooler. This also includes low-profile graphics cards as well as graphics cards with extended PCBs (such as the ASUS DirectCU II R9 290, GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5). In most cases, it is not possible to install the cooler if the graphics card is mounted in the first PCI slot of the motherboard.
