The duo seems to exude a touch of performance. It is a solid, lightweight piece of technology that simply looks great. A rich and rewarding listening experience that I can't tear myself away from. There are only a few other options that can match this kind of listening experience, which, to put it mildly, is quite astonishing.

In seiner Preisklasse gehört der Cambridge Audio Alva Duo zu den attraktivsten Phono-Vorverstärkern. Er ist voll und uneingeschränkt MC- und MM-tauglich. Er arbeitet in beiden Modi sehr rauscharm und klangneutral. Und er harmoniert dank seiner leicht warmen, räumlich weiten und dynamisch eher lässig zurückgelehnten Art mit jedem Musikstil und jeder Anlage...

Mit MM- wie MC-Abtastern extrem locker und gelöst klingender Phono-Vorverstärker-Pre mit praktischem Balanceregler und Kopfhöreranschluss. Der bewegliche Bass kommt schlank, sehnig und trocken. Insgesamt ist das Klangbild eher präsent als sonor. Die feine Verarbeitung sowie die reichhaltige Ausstattung lässt einen deutlich höheren Preis vermuten.
