With patented membrane technology, Minuendo is able to achieve a frequency response comparable to that of custom earplugs. This excellent result is achieved through micrometer-precise processing. The attenuation is continuously adjustable between -7 and -25 dB.

A key part of Minuendo's patented innovation lies in the unique ability to adjust and continuously tension the membrane. This allows for a wide range of different attenuation values. The small adjustment lever on the Minuendo earplug simultaneously controls a combination of slot thickness, volume, and membrane tension to achieve a natural sound across the entire adjustable range. The complex interplay between membrane structure, tension, mesh, and varying acoustic channels is calculated using finite element methods and an electrical equivalent circuit analysis of the acoustic-mechanical system.
