Yes they are. If you use them with Apple devices, the features are great. Just the automatic switching to the iPhone when someone calls and you're listening to TV with the airPods, for example. After the call, they switch back to the TV and the movie continues.

My husband has these Airpods and can't locate them with sound (the case can't make any noise) but can roughly see where they are. Of course, only as long as they have battery...

Both are a good choice. I have both models. In noisy environments like Migros or Coop restaurants, the noise cancelling function is very very pleasant. The 3rd gen. Is more comfortable to wear for me personally. I use them mostly in the office when I want to have them in for several hours to talk on the phone and listen to music in between. If the rubber things don't bother you, I would recommend the pros. The transparent mode is also very good, depending on the situation. I always switch it on when I'm on my bike. Not everyone likes the rubber drops in the ear. The Airpods Pro are cheaper in stores than at Apple directly. Normally the Pro's cost 279.- The 3rd generation has the best battery life. But no ANC.
