We use the cameras in a horse stable. The night vision function works really well. You have a good view of the room you're watching and everything is easy to see - in black and white. We switched off the motion detection because the horses are constantly moving. But we are more than satisfied with the camera and the easy handling!
The setting runs exclusively via the app from the manufacturer, so it also needs the WLAN. The memory card is only there if you don't want to use the cloud.

You receive a push message and can then call up the recording stored on the server. But you also have the option of switching on the camera on the app at any time. So when the doorbell rings, you can look in the app to see who is standing there. You can even talk to the person via the camera. But there is a small delay.

The base station is not mandatory according to the manufacturer. The base station is only needed if you need to interconnect several cameras (up to 6), or if you need to extend the transmission range for wireless cameras. It also has a 100 decibel alarm in case of an alarm.
