The telephone only works with a Swisscom box if the box offers an analogue telephone connection, as the telephone is an analogue landline telephone. The Panasonic KX-TGK220GB is an analogue landline telephone that is connected to an analogue telephone line. Although the Swisscom Internet Box mainly supports IP and DECT telephones, if it has an analogue connection (TAE or RJ11), the telephone can be connected there. A direct DECT connection to the Swisscom Box is not possible with this model as it is not a DECT telephone. If the Swisscom Box only supports IP or DECT telephones, a separate analogue telephone line or an adapter is required. The KX-TGK220GB is compatible with analogue connections, not with IP-based telephone connections or proprietary DECT systems from Swisscom.

With this landline phone, as with most phones, SMS can neither be sent nor received as such. German Telekom used to have an SMS-to-speech service that would have enabled reception. I don't know if any supplier still offers such a service.

I don't know if this model is available without Ab. You don't need to activate it, that's what I did. Who needs an "Ab" nowadays? If no one is home, let them call back later. Apart from that, the number is visible to the caller. Greetings

according to Quick Start Guide KX-TGK220G, page 2 Extension of the telephone system: Handset (optional): KX-TGDA30EX Excerpt You can expand the telephone system and register optional handsets (max 6) for individual base stations. -Optional handsets have a different design than the supplied handsets. Greetings StenKen
