What I found out is that the hardware/software is supposed to be identical (according to the Reddit chat, keyword "Q990 D variants"). We decided in favour of the Q990D (approx. 6 months old). It works perfectly.

For test purposes, I gradually turned the volume up to 45 (both in normal TV mode and on Netflix). No strange "tick/pop noises" or other interference occurred. My old TV (no HDMI) is connected to the soundbar via an optical cable. Maybe you could try one of these cables. They don't cost much. My TV set is about 14 years old, but still works great. Unfortunately, I can't help you any more.

So my Q990D has been running for 1 month without a single problem on a Samsung S90D.
Both eARC and HDMI Passthrough Xbox Series X are running flawlessly.
They have their own power supply, you just have to connect them to a normal 220V outlet.
