Helpful answer

The device does not have a USB port and is designed for listening to Rasio, DAB+ and (Internet) network sources with the MusicCast control software (on the device or via phone / tablet app IOS and Android). For "hardware sources", the CD-S303 is recommended. This device can play music CDs, CD-Rs and USB sticks via the USB-A(!) plug on the front, all via remote control. The software in the device can address up to 9 levels, 999 folders and 65535 files on the stick. The sticks must be formatted in FAT 16 or FAT 32. Digital media without DRM encryption ("unprotected files") in MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV PCM and FLAC can be played. Exact details can be found in the CD-S303 manual (online at Yamaha CH).

Hello... Strange. Doesn't ring a bell. I would have said reconfigure. If that doesn't work, maybe pull the plug everywhere. In case of connection problems in general, no matter which device, it often helps to restart the router and all other access points from the WLAN. And if necessary, also reinstall the app...

Hello, the unit cannot be switched on with the "Optical" button alone; it can only be switched on with the "Power" button. However, the reciver saves the last selected function, i.e. if music was last played via "Optical" and the reciver is switched on again, the "Optical" function is still selected and playback from the TV takes place directly via the reciver.

Hello I wanted to send you an excerpt of the manual as a JPG, but that is not possible as an answer. The manual only tells me that Bluetooth devices can be connected and the data on them can be played back via the receiver. The reverse is probably not possible. Sending data from the receiver to the headphones is not possible.

Sorry, I can't help you there. My old receiver gave up the ghost. I chose the Yamaha because I've known the company for 40 years and it was as wide as my age :-( Anyway, I'm happy with it. The only thing I haven't managed so far is an Internet connection, but I don't care.

Yes, the N303D can be connected. According to the manual, speakers with 8Ohms and more are recommended. The B&W 684 S2 have 8Ohms. The amplifier power also matches B&W's recommendations. Connecting the speakers is described on page 11 of the manual (see Digitec product page of the R-N303D). Bi-wiring is also possible, if desired.

And then how do you get a phono input?

There is a separate product category for this at Digitec: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/producttype/phono-vorverstaerker-1452 Whether an MC or MM preamplifier is necessary should be stated in the operating instructions of the turntable.
