How well does DAB+ reception work with the antenna supplied? Can the antenna be hidden behind a cabinet or TV set?

The antenna supplied must be mounted on my window, otherwise nothing works. Our house is built earthquake-proof with a lot of iron. I bought a small special antenna that amplifies the signal with electricity and can be placed behind the unit without any problems.

R-N803D compatible with Bose Accoustimass 5 II? Hello installation professionals... I have the following question. Swapped my old Technics with the Yamaha. The Technics was connected to the Bose. Wonderful sound and bass. Now with the Yamaha the bass (subwoofer) almost doesn't sound anymore. I connected with normal speaker cable and the same as before with the Technics. I.e. Speaker A from the Yamaha with the cables to the Bose subwoofer, then from the Bose subi to the small Bose Böxli. Somehow this combination doesn't make sense? Probably similar to what has already been described here, i.e. I would have to use normal passive speakers instead of the Bose Accoustic Mass? That would be a real pity... merci for feedback.

I use the Yamaha Receiver R-N803D with 2 x speakers from Dali (Oberon 3). If you turn up the bass control on the Yamaha receiver, the bass comes across strongly. Nothing vibrates and the sound remains crystal clear. This combination is absolutely brilliant for us. I recommend connecting your Bose speakers directly to the Yamaha receiver. I am of the opinion that the speaker cables must be of high quality (I have the Oehlbach SP25 without any cable lugs). However, it could well be that passive speakers would work better. Good luck with the trial and error.

Hello, can I connect the receiver to the modem via a patch cable and thus listen directly -> TuneIn? Then I would not have to set up via DAB+ / antenna and so. Boxes with 8Ohm / 100W RMS OK? Thanks guys

That is all correct. With TuneIn, the stations can also be selected without an app and saved as favourites. More powerful boxes would also work.

The N803D has an Ethernet. If I play FLAC on my Windows computer in any media player, how do I get the output to the N803D and not to the clattering PC speakers? You can access the PC's music from the N803D, but the 2 line display and 4 cursor keys on the remote are really not user friendly. The other way round is more interesting: From Synology Media Player or from Windows to the receiver. Is that possible at all? How would it work, is there a sound driver for Windows or ? The answer to this question would help me a lot. Otherwise a very good traditional device (vintage?) There are about 35000 internet radio sources: Browsing through them with the remote control until I found the preferred 5 would keep me busy for the rest of my life. DAB is decent, great as an amplifier. Internet, either I'm too stupid or Yamaha is somewhere in the last millennium.

I can't say anything about Windows. With the Mac, however, it works without problems. Regarding internet radio: Download the Musiccast app. Then it's easier to search for web radio and save your favourites. Or you can install Tunein on your computer, tablet or phone. Then you can select the Yamaha as the output source. It couldn't be easier.

What is the function of outputs A and B? What should one pay attention to? Does the amplifier itself have a tweeter and a mid-range/woofer? Is it possible to mount speakers that have a little more RMS power? Kind regards

The unit has only 2 output stages. These can be connected to the outputs A, B or A+B (parallel). Bi-amping is therefore not possible. The A+B circuit is more like bi-wiring. Regarding the power of the speakers: It is important that the impedance does not fall below the minimum of 4 ohms (which the unit supports).

I have had this device since February 2020, but have not yet tried out all the possibilities. Question: I have the thing wired on my GB-Lan as well as via WiFi in operation. When listening to the radio via netradio (e.g. Maloney on Sunday mornings) I regularly have dropouts of about 5 seconds, not only SRF3 but also other stations. On the other hand, I can stream/listen to YouTube videos or Spotify music via my mobile phone without any problems. So I don't think it's the WiFi. What are your experiences? Any tips? Thank you!
