The J5 meets my requirements completely. I would buy it again.
I was mainly looking for a dual SIM to separate my private and business life. The operation regarding SIM selection is simple and clear. I can't judge the performance in terms of gaming or video. I use the device mainly as a phone, messenger and calendar.

- Already defective after 3 1/2 months. I have never experienced this in 23 years of mobile phone use.

unusable for two sim cards...
the device is supposed to be a dual sim, unfortunately it is impossible to occupy the second sim slot, the slot can no longer be closed as soon as a sim is inserted...

Only price/performance alternative for dual SIM card use
Good handy phone, reasonably fast (my S7 was very fast, the J5 sufficiently fast). Camera could be better. SIM functionality is very good, exactly why I bought the phone. Stability... just like the S7, despite protection with case and bulletproof glass, dropped once and screen broken (shattered and black). I'm using my S5 Mini again, which in contrast seems indestructible. Also to mention - compared to the S7, I have reception problems at the border between Germany and Switzerland, which cause the phone to crash, seems to be a Samsung problem, just like with my old S5.

Good camera & Dual SIM & Micro SD at a reasonable price
Bought as a replacement for my J5 (2016) that my son is getting.
I am positively surprised by the picture quality of the camera. Compared to the S7, you have to accept a few compromises, but you pay less than half the price (S7 Dual) and have the micro-SD card available in addition to the two SIMs.Pro
