Very good headphones (when they work again!), much more bass-emphasised than usual with Sennheiser. However, this can be adjusted with the (immature) app (unfortunately no longer possible since 12.2023), extremely lousy, confusing app! The edges of the headband are not very padded and this can be uncomfortable when worn for long periods of time, depending on the shape of your head or short haircut. The comparison with Bose or Sony is more a matter of taste for me, all 3 are very good, it is important to test the different models to find "your favourite", the touch surfaces that need to be operated (very often incorrect operation) or the app are extremely negative for me, but this is also a technical matter of taste. Many users see it differently, and the reviews confirm this.
Addendum: Zero stars because this Sennheiser product cannot be paired with the Sennheiser BTD 300 Audio, many other devices also do not recognise the Sennheiser, unbelievable, lousy!!! Despite everything, a very good pair of ANC headphones, if you want to pair them for once. App on iOS no longer works since the last update, loss of connection every time the app is opened(!!!) Support Internet and help ONLY ENGLISH, lousy at such a price! Will never buy Sennheiser products again as a loyal customer for decades!

I bought the headphones at a discount for about 280. I think the headphones are very good for that and would buy them again, especially because of the good sound quality.
I definitely wouldn't buy them at the full price of over 370, as the disadvantages I mentioned would no longer be really acceptable to me.

I'm not talking about technical data, battery etc., you can read that crap in the product description. I want to talk about the sound... Always had Sennheiser, the latest Momentum Wireless. After what felt like 4 years, the time came just two months ago to get something new. Unfortunately, the Momentum 4s weren't available at the time, much less did I know anything was in the pipeline. Since the Momentum 3 had the same headband as my old Momentum, which firstly left marks and secondly also made itself felt in comfort at some point, I decided on the Sony XM4. I just got the Momentum 4... Guys, if it's up to me, the difference is night and day. The Momentum 4 really delivers here, the volume about 30% higher than the XM4, the bass, heavenly!!! No matter what volume, I have the bass at 5db, mids at 3db and treble at 2db, awesome, the bass overwhelming, such nice clear and potent mid! As I said, ORGASMUS PUUR!!! These things rock!!! I am sooowas happy and satisfied, worth every centime! I can only recommend them to everyone! Sound-wise, Sennheiser can't be compared to anything else.
The wearing comfort, my ears are completely enclosed, the ear is completely in the earpiece, nothing presses. The cushions, both the headband and the earpiece itself, are as soft as butter!
Here are a few songs for reference:
Naza - Baby Lova
Tayc - N'y pense plus
Soolking - Espérance

As a previously enthusiastic Sennheiser listener, I bought the Momentum4 to replace the ageing Momentum2. Although the target audience is probably the same and the name only suggests an upgrade, the two headphones are worlds apart. I've owned four Sennheiser headphones so far, and the Momentum 4 have nothing in common with them.
The most important criterion for me was, of course, the sound. I was used to a very neutral and balanced sound from Sennheiser, with which I could enjoy everything from classical music to techno - the Momentum 4 no longer deliver that. Orchestral recordings are generally fine, albeit without the usual clarity in the upper mid-range. But piano is no longer possible - the airiness of even the best recordings is gone and in certain frequency ranges I have the feeling of listening to the electronics at work. Subway music and jazz are somewhat less demanding and sometimes very enjoyable to listen to. In general, the bass is somewhat overemphasised and the upper mids lack clarity.
However, all the other aspects are really annoying:
- After pausing playback, the same sound source is often not restarted. If I listen to music, stop briefly and want to continue listening, a video is started on any open tab in the browser, for example.
- The touch control makes no difference between clothing and finger - playback suddenly stops when walking because the shirt collar is brushed against the ear cup. A quick tap on the right ear cup then resumes playback - but not always of what was playing before.
- ANC can be switched off with a double tap on the ear cup, but then playback sometimes stops...
- Putting the headphones down often switches them off - but not always, of course. If I'm in another room and want to answer a phone, it suddenly goes through the headphones...
- The equalisers are a joke. 5 bands that harmonise well, but can't compensate for the deficits.
- A "personalisation" that plays a few sound samples of electronic instruments with which you can adjust the relative volume of the different pitches.
- ANC that can be adjusted continuously via the app, but can only switch between ANC and transparency (with audible noise) without the app. Switching off is not possible.
